PCI Passthrough with Red Hat OpenStack Platform

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Is OpenStack ready for HPC environments in oil and gas? How about advanced 3D rendering using PCI passthrough with Nova instances? What are the potential issues and what sort of performance can you expect?

We’ll look to answer all these questions and more, as we deep-dive into PCI passthrough using Red Hat’s OpenStack Platform. You’ll be amazed by this not-so-often used capability, as we look at how it works and it how applies to high performance 3D environments. We’ll also look at potential applications outside of HPC, possibly extending OpenStack into new industries.

We’ll be covering these topics: - PCI card recognition - PCI card identification and enumeration - CPU Pinning - Sripting PCI passthrough support - VM Instance considerations - Performance expectations - Pitfalls - Real-world examples

This talk will feature a real-world example that Red Hat OpenStack architects faced in the oil and gas industry. See you there!
